Hi, I am Gabriela!

In the past 2 years I have been seriously struggling with finding ways to live " normal " life in my rapidly changing body, emotions, mind and spirit. 

See, I am almost 49 years old ( August baby!) and my early onset of menopause barged into my life without any warning. Sure, I remember mom telling myself and 2 of my sisters about her early menopause in her early 40's, but with my super conscious healthy lifestyle, I waved my hand at this as something that surely will not concern me that much. 

I was wrong. 

Literally nothing could prepare me for overwhelming hot flashes throughout a day, night sweats and difficulty getting nice deep sleep on most fo the nights, weight gain around my belly ... I feel like weight gain was a bit shocking discovery as I was skinny most of my life and never worried about the weight or flabby skin. 

And moodiness, irritability and just overwhelmed with emotions. My relationship greatly suffered as my husband did not know how to support me at this time either. I was worried I am going to ruin great thing we got. 

I actually felt like the body I was carrying wasn't mine. I couldn't control any of it and fell into total helplessness in trying to eat even more healthy ( vegan plant based ) and consciously ...

But ... all this time I was just resisting. Pushing. Resisting of what is. And what is that I am in very different period in my life. One that I have no idea how to support or befriend. 

So I started my own healing journey to understand my body and what's happening physically, emotionally and mentally with me during this important life transitioning. 

Fascinating discoveries and I am still learning let me tell you!

It is ongoing journey and I am happy to say that  today I am enjoying more balanced way of being on all levels, emotional balance, restful nights, glowing skin & hair and improved relationship with my husband. I am more aware of myself and what my needs are. 

What have changed? 

By accepting menopause as a transition in my life, everything just started to make more sense. The very first lesson was to abandon any known " what worked for me before" - the truth was, nothing that worked for me throughout my whole life was working for me now. I was required to make certain switch to that new way of being a woman. Adapting new practices and learning as I went, what worked for me. My measure of " success " was no hot flashes, deep sleep without waking up or night sweats, decreased belly fat, increase of energy and sense of wellbeing and oh, that sense of balance and calm. 

Look, I still get irritated seemingly without reason sometimes ... but you know what's different? The way I deal with it. How I build this certain resiliency and my own support systems that serve me so well. 

And something worth mentioning here for those of you who are with partners - we got to learn to identify our own needs at this time, without expecting our partners to do magic work for us and than express, ask for what we need. More rest? More time? More affection? More care? 

Everyone is experiencing menopause in her very own way. We are each unique. I am here, reaching out to you shouting - I got tools sister! You do not need to suffer needlessly and it is totally possible to fully enjoy this later chapter in our feminine lives.
